His description of the behavior of Obama and Biden at the funeral for the four heroes:
But the near-parodic locker-room coarseness is grotesque both in its inaptness and in its lack of basic human feeling for a bereaved family forced to grieve in public and as crowd-scene extras to the political bigshot. Just about the only formal responsibility a vice president has is to attend funerals without embarrassing his country. And this preening buffoon of pseudo-blue-collar faux-machismo couldnt even manage that.
“There’s a broader lesson to be learned here,” Mr. Obama told “60 Minutes” correspondent Steve Kroft at the White House. “And I — you know, Governor Romney seems to have a tendency to shoot first and aim later. And as president, one of the things I’ve learned is you can’t do that. That, you know, it’s important for you to make sure that the statements that you make are backed up by the facts. And that you’ve thought through the ramifications before you make ‘em.”
I’m surprised no one has analyzed Biden’s near-pathic need to portray himself as a tough guy. He is always shooting his mouth off about how tough a ‘fighter’ he is. He’s a wimp who’s lived inside the padded glove of government jobs his entire life.
If I’d been the father of the soldier slain in Libya and the VP had said that to me, I’d be in jail for decking him. It’s not a football game and a daring play they were discussing. It was the slaughter of soldier who’d been hung out to dry by the administration of the guy making the coarse comment.
Throw a hard hat and sleeveless shirt on him and he’d fit right in with the aging Village People.
I just get more nauseated and horrified every day.
