Democratic congressional candidate Tammy Duckworth has opened a double-digit lead over freshman Republican Rep. Joe Walsh, an edge fueled by a huge advantage among female voters as women's issues have taken center stage, a new Tribune/WGN-TV poll shows.
With less than two weeks until the election, Duckworth had the backing of 50 percent to 40 percent for Walsh, the controversial tea party-backed incumbent. An additional 9 percent were undecided, which is significant this close to the Nov. 6 balloting, particularly for a highly visible contest that has been combative for months.
The poll results, however, indicate difficulties for Walsh in trying to rally and earn a second term in Washington. Walsh is not viewed favorably. The 8th Congressional District takes a dim view of Republicans in Congress. And independent voters are breaking for Duckworth.

Internals, please. I don’t believe s**t until I see internals.
Watched one of the debates between Walsh and Duckworth. Her response to almost every issue was to get both sides to sit down and talk about it. She sounded like a complete box of rocks. Her ads are sleazy like you would expect from the Chicago/Illinois Democrat Party.
The results could be inverse of what is reported, and we would never be able to even check.
PROPAGANDA FAIL
It is, of course, totally counter-productive to the pursuit of happiness.

Tammy is underperforming, it is a 58-42 Dem district.
I’ll be seeing Joe at a townhall meeting tomorrow along with Pete Roskam. If no one else asks him about this, I’ll put it out there.
I commend Tammy Duckworth on her service in Iraq, but she is a typical bleeding heart liberal that was backed by good ole Blago (I wonder how he’s doing in prison?).
When she picked up a knife one day, however, all deals were off. She got the Domestic Violence charge she was so strenuously seeking.
Years ago, I lived with an ex-girlfriend who was borderline psychotic but hid those flaws for the most part until the end of the relationship. Nothing physical. But...she was bleeping nuts! Her former roommate, a female, contacted me after the relationship dissolved and told me she had sleepless nights thinking the crazed chick was going to do damage to one of them. Info I could have used before establishing a relationship. :-)

Not buying this poll.
in journalistic reports of polls, there should be more discussion on the demographics of the undecided ... take the undecided and break them down based on the cross tabs.
I cannot believe I used to be a “poll star”.
Ditto. Any poll the Trib does now I don’t believe.
He's got one: http://marcuslewisforcongress2012.org/
He's polling in double digits (despite having absolutely no money or ground game) for three factors:
1) He's black
2) He's not a Republican
3) He's not JJJ (who even other marxist RAT politicians don't want to be seen "endorsing" at this point)
If only we had a stronger candidate and the third candidate was more serious, we could have possibly won a 3 way race.
