Well, there was definately some ire after Bachman’s campaign manager (Ed Rollins) trashed Palin, after Palin had strongly supported/donated/campaigned for Bachman during the mid-terms. But it basically passed. Especially after Rollins left Bachman’s campaign and then proceeded to trash her too!
I like Bachman, and think she’s rock-solid in her views and positions. But I also think she was “played” a bit by the GOP-establishment, who were wanting to keep the Tea Party contingent at bay (and also dissuade Palin from running). When Bachman was in the race early-on, and only polling about 2% at best, there were a slew of Republican-establishment hacks on FoxNews that curiously started pushing her like mad, all at the same time, in the same week. It was weird. Because these weren’t your usual names that would cotton to Bachman. It seemed so strangely calculated. She shot up in the polls for a while after that. Then the same hacks later dropped her like a rock, of course. It was all rather eyebrow-raising.
This didn't help her image much.
First of all, I don’t know if Rollins “trashed” Palin. He simply said she “had not been serious for years.” ...or something like that.
Looking back he was correct..... the bus tour, the dvd promotion, all the reality shows. Not exactly the characteristics of a serious contender for a candidate to be the president and leader of the free world.
Secondly, didn’t Palin herself throw a few elbows at Republicans? Bachmann was inexperienced...... Perry was a crony capitalist.... Newt was a narrow minded machine goon....
