House Speaker John A. Boehner on Thursday demanded that President Obama explain why his administration has struggled to handle the terrorist attack on the U.S. Consulate in Benghazi, Libya, in a move that could raise the political peril to the White House.
In a letter to Mr. Obama, the Republican speaker demanded that the president answer five questions including why his administration turned down requests for more security at the diplomatic post, and why the White House didnt do a better job of acknowledging it as a terrorist attack until well after the fact.
Our country will not be able to move on from the tragedy of Sept. 11, 2012, until the public better understands the answers, Mr. Boehner wrote.
The Ohio Republican is stepping into a fight that his partys presidential nominee, Mitt Romney, has shied away from in recent weeks. At this weeks foreign policy debate, Mr. Romney didnt raise any questions about the White Houses handling of Benghazi, and instead repeatedly praised Mr. Obamas decision-making.
But House Republicans have pushed the issue, including using their control of the House oversight committee to release internal administration emails that indicate some in the administration should have been able to spot the terrorist roots of the attack early on.

The word Coward comes to mind. Fired is another!!!!
That is funny to think about, Boehner “demanding” something. Bet it gave Obama a good laugh too.
I skimmed over the article and I didn’t see the most important question. Why wasn’t help sent immediately? Or, grow a pair Boner and ask “Why did you allow American citizens to be murdered?”
Boehner has waited this long, he can wait 12 more days. We don’t need him to muck things up at this point.
Hear! Hear!
It took him this long to see which way the wind was blowing.
Has anyone seen him make an appearance with Mitt Romney?
Show any support for Romney?
Probably best that he doesn’t
Like I say Boehner stuck his finger in his mouth and held it in the air to see which way the wind was blowing before getting involved. Perhaps he was pushed by some real republicans in the party, but that too is doubtful, not many of them left.
It’s bad enough that we have to put up with the MSM not reporting on it, NO, we have to wait for Mr. Spineless fake-bake Boehner as well! Do your job fool!
Exactly...Those questions have to be asked and answered.
We know they won’t be answered and it doesn’t look like they’ll be asked.
My thinking that Boehner and the Oversight committee were to use a fishing term “letting out more line”. Make the fish think it got away. Just like the admin, they became comfortable with their false narrative of the Benghazi events and their excuses. Time to set the hook Boehner!
You know you have really stepped in it when Boehner takes a moment, puts down his martini and demands answers.
"demands"
sorry, does not compute
Perhaps he was pushed by some real republicans in the party, but that too is doubtful, not many of them left.
There are some, though, like Michelle Bachman. I think she was spot on about Huma and the Muslim Brotherhood. I’ll bet she’s up to her shifty eyes in this Libyan mess. Of course, rino’s like McCain shot Bachman down and no one has taken a serious look at the woman who perches high in our State Dept despite her entire family being MB. We’ve got a whole lot of house cleaning to do as we have a serious infestation of vermin in all areas of gov.
Boehner is a chump dandy.Any politician who would go golfing with Obama is questionable as to realities of what this Nation’s needs are. He plays to the news output and should not be trying to speak for those he would be trying impress. With his bopsey twin McConnell both need to retire to the windbag club.
Yes. And after he did, FR bashed him.
The guy is cursed here whatever he does/says.
This thread is more of the same.
I think this should have come from Romney, but it could be argued that Boehner gets to be the bad guy, which shields Romney from looking over aggressive. Maybe like Reid saying Romney hadn’t paid any taxes? Except Reid was wrong and Boehner is right.
Boehner who the hell is he, haven’t heard a word from him in months.
And if he doesn’t will Boehner crumble in a flood of tears?
