Obama Gets Endorsement of Voting Machine in NC

...Is it just me, or is this problem that “arises every election” one where malfunctioning machines always seem to err in favor of Democrats?

Other questions are raised. How many people voted for Romney in Bur-Mil Park and didn’t even notice their votes were switched? How many of Al Gore’s other slightly less charming relatives occupy polling stations around America? And can they be numerous enough so that the election can be “corrected” in favor of Hope and Change the Vote?

This is why I never liked the idea of electronic voting machines. Sure, after the stolen 2000 election (from Demtionary.com: “stolen election noun 1. an election not won by a Democrat 2. (archaic) an election won via dishonest means”), with its hanging chads and Florida early-bird-special voters who couldn’t distinguish between Pat Buchanan and Al Gore on a ballot — despite one candidate actually being human — there was a drumbeat for modernization. “Why is the US in this day and age still using paper ballots?!” they asked. “We need cutting-edge technology.” But they call it a paper trail for a reason. Do we really want to trade this for an electron trail?

You've probably hear this story already, but this article is hilarious. You'll enjoy it even if the subject is maddening.

I remember that Pat Buchanan was the candidate for the Reform Party and got roughly the same amount of votes in the district that the Reform Party candidate for Congress got 2 years prior.

Just voted in NC. The way the machines are set up if you vote the straight party ticket, YOU DON’T VOTE FOR PRESIDENT. you have to make a separate selection for president. What moron set it up that way?

My precinct has one electronic voting machine and it sits there unused for about 6 years running.

I voted today in NC, using a paper ballot, not an electronic voting machine. As far as the design of the ballot, it should not be a problem if you can read. The POTUS vote is the first thing on the ballot, immediately followed by the selection to vote a straight ticket. It very clearly states that you must vote for POTUS separately. In addition, at my early polling place, they were passing out little pink slips of paper at the door to the room with the voting booths that cautioned the voter about the position of the vote for president.

Up until the 2010 election, the Democrats have had control of state government since Reconstruction. We did have a couple of Republican governors and a couple of years that the Republicans had control of the state HOR,but you can be sure that the design of the ballot was one of the Democrats dirty tricks to try to influence the vote for POTUS. I never vote a straight party ticket because there are some Democrats (such as our local Sheriff who is a fine Christian man that I have known most of my life) that I do vote for. In addition, a straight party ticket prevents you from voting for judges since several years ago it was decided that these races should be "nonpartisan" so that judges could be more impartial. In truth, it was because the Democrats were getting shut out in those elections because the voters knew that Republican judges (John Roberts not withstanding) were less likely to be liberal and to legislate from the bench. Now, I have to research what judges are being supported by the Tea Party or the Republican Party so I will know for whom to vote.

BTW, I got an email earlier today from a friend whose cousin voted in Guilford County and experienced what is being described in the article. It has been in the news lately and the problem supposedly has been corrected. This lady claimed that these voting machines came from China and were provided by George Soros to be pre-programed to vote for Obama for POTUS. Even though the problem has supposedly been fixed, this lady was still worried that it might be some diabolical plot to allow Obama to win no matter for whom the actual votes were cast.
