My first guess is that the people at the newspaper knew a LOT of what really happened and might have had family and friends who were badly hurt by the “bailout.” This might be their way of saying that Obama f....d up royally, but they can’t publicly admit it.

I myself was torn on the bailout because I know how closely Michigan’s economy is tied to the auto industry. HOWEVER, I also know that the auto makers have gone bankrupt in the past and restructured to emerge stronger.

The auto bailout was nothing resembling a bankruptcy. This was a buyout that used stolen taxpayer dollars to benefit the unions, other “green” industries, and seize control of the companies. Michigan is now in a far more precarious position than we were before this government buyout.
