My understating is that studies in the legal profession have consistently shown that the very famous,or those closely connected to the very famous,almost never are convicted in criminal trials.OJ...Michael Jackson..Ted Kennedy...Robert Blake...William Kennedy Smith.Phil Spector wasn't as famous and his fame was in the distant past so he was convicted.If Skakil was known in the press at the time as "Kennedy Skakil" he wouldn't have been convicted.It was no coincidence that the rapist,Bill,was "Kennedy Smith" rather than just "Smith"....that was an intentional strategy on the part of his lawyers.
