It is not a winning position to force raped women to bear children. Or to even imply such a thing. That makes them little more than slaves.
Nor does everyone have the same religious views of such things.
During the times the Church controlled things that may have been possible but not now.
Raped women would be less willing to choose to kill the child if they understood that the child is not a monster and her life is not ruined by the child’s life. Which is what Mourdock is saying. Why such resistance to that simple truth?
