Last night, Mr. Romney seemed to be preparing to lead a united nation. I thought that he carefully picked his way through the mine field laid by a spiteful and divisive President, allowing him (Romney) to work with a consensus of citizens if he is elected.

I confess that wanted to see more fireworks, p**s and vinegar. I wanted in-depth discussions regarding capitalism v. socialism and national sovereignty v. one-world ideology.

Because of Mr. Romney’s tactics last night, I think further polarization and, thus, violence, may have been headed off.
