Actually, the prominent sunni guy who was killed was working on bringing to trial the murderers of Rafik Hariri, the ex-prime minister, who was essentially murdered by Syria. The sunni guy was killed in a Christian area, and at least 7 innocent Christian civilians were killed in the blast. It feels great to see Hezbollah paying a political price for this. It used to be that political assassinations barely raised an eye brow they were so common. Now vast swaths of the population go to the street and demand resignations. The current government is dominated by Hezbollah, hence the protests.
