During a Miami stop on Oct. 11, President Barack Obama said: “And today, Al Queda is on the run and Osama bin Laden is dead.”
As usual, the President is lying to us, to put a shine on his miserable failures of foreign policy, especially in the middle east.
On Sept. 11, the day Ambassador Stevens (who WAS an acknowledged expert and leading strategist in middle eastern politics, especially in Libya) and three other Americans were slaughtered - signed a three-page cable, labeled “sensitive,” in which he noted “growing problems with security” in Benghazi and “growing frustration” on the part of local residents with Libyan police and security forces. These forces the ambassador characterized earlier, among numerous pleas for added security, as “too weak to keep the country secure. Islamic extremism appears to be on the rise in eastern Libya, and the Al-Qaeda flag has been spotted several times flying over government buildings and training facilities ...”
Rest in Peace, Mr. Ambassador.
a brave man, ill-served by his superiors in the state dept.
