Sen. Rand Paul's (R-Ky.) political action committee released a new ad this week accusing Sen. Claire McCaskill (D-Mo.) of being a rubber stamp for sending foreign aid to countries with anti-American interests.
The ad, released Tuesday and funded by Rand PAC, aims to help McCaskill's Republican challenger in the Missouri Senate race, Rep. Todd Akin.
"The Pakistani government imprisoned the man who helped us finally get Osama bin Laden," the narrator in the ad says. "What would you do? Claire McCaskill voted to send taxpayer dollars to Pakistan."
The ad also links McCaskill to sending funds to Egypt and Libya before pivoting to linking the senator from Missouri to President Obama.
"Here at home millions of people are out of work and our debt keeps climbing but Claire McCaskill works with Barack Obama to send our money to radicals who attack our embassies, burn our flag, and kill our diplomats," the voiceover continues. "What would you do? It's time to bring our tax dollars home and send Claire McCaskill home too."
Paul has been one of the Senate's most vocal opponents of foreign aid payments, especially to volatile Middle Eastern nations.
The campaigns for Mitt Romney and Obama both have sought to gain a political advantage over the attack on the U.S. Consulate in Benghazi, Libya, in September. Four staffers at the embassy, including the ambassador, died as a result of the assault.
Romney and Republicans have strongly criticized Obama for taking too long to characterize the attack as an act of terrorism. Democrats, in response, say Romney and his Republican surrogates are just trying to score political points by lobbing criticism about the attack.
Heard on Red Eye radio that GM’s domestic financial situation is in the black, and the taxpayer bailout dollars ended up supporting its overseas investments. In other words, the taxpayer dollars were used to bail out foreign investments.
Go Rand! Doing the work the eGOP won’t do—those despicable b**tards.
Bad news for the many FReepers who think Claire McCasket is a better choice than that “idiot” Akin.
I don’t know of a single FReeper who thinks that McCaskill is a better choice than Akin.
Now I do know of one.
"McCaskill's family pocketed more than $40 million of our tax money ... the moment her hand come off the Bible, it went into our pockets."
Here’s the message I left a few minutes ago to the RNSC.
Just to let you know that I will not be donating to the Senatorial Committee until I learn that support is being given to Todd Akin from the national party. I have donated personally to his campaign. You have senators in Congress that have done far worse than a misspeak.
Also, I am tired of getting Robo calls from this committee as well. Please take me off your calling list. I have caller ID and this is a nuisance,
By the way. . . .there are many more that feel the same way as I. I am tired of poor leadership!!!!!!!!!!!
I’ve said the same thing to the RNC, multiple times.
Akin is hitting McCaskill as hard as he can on the exporting of jobs and her less-than-stellar ethics record. But he is limited to what he has been able to raise on his own. Many of McCaskill’s ads are funded by 501c’s. None of Akin’s are that I’ve seen. Unless he can get some more money from somewhere then there will continue to be 20 McCaskill ads for every Akin ad. And his message may be lost in the deluge.
