Benghazi Consulate's 3 AM Phone Call

It was one of the most memorable images from the 2008 presidential campaign. It was not a McCain ad or an Obama ad. It was, instead, a Hillary Clinton ad.

The ad featured a red telephone ringing urgently at 3 am in the White House. The voiceover for this political ad assured us that Hillary Clinton would be able to answer that telephone, that she was someone "tested and ready to lead in a dangerous world."

The Red Telephone ad is almost unbearably painful to listen to today.

On September 11, 2012, that red telephone did ring. The world proved to be a very dangerous place for U.S. Ambassador Chris Stevens and three of his American compatriots in Benghazi, Libya. The phone rang, and the response in the White House, in the State Department, was: "The number you have reached is not a working number..."

"Hillary Clinton has said she accepts full responsibility for what happened in Benghazi and for the "lapses" in security that allowed our "Safe House" there to become so lethal to Amb. Stevens and his friends. That's another Axelrod weasel word -- lapse. Lapse is when you forget to tie your shoe and trip going onstage. Or when you leave your fly unzipped. This was no lapse. This was a debacle."

Just ask Christopher Stevens. Oh wait ....

They HAD to call in a protest. The alternative is an organized attack on US sovereign territory on 9-11. A consulate woefully undermanned for security. What would the headline be in every newspaper in the world on 9-12? => “Terrorist attack US Consulate on 9-11” (the truth)

“No reason the WH should be aware of Libya”. Consider...if ‘Joe the Plumber’ announce a press conference, Obama people would be watching.

Intelligence is informed speculation => a transcript is a transcript. A transcript exists of the radio communications. (Came out before congress.) They sent security cam pics. They said: “The Taliban are in the building”. The mic was open after the communication stopped. It wasn’t amateur hour.

Are we to believe nobody asked to ready men and material for a potential response...? Who gives such authorizations for a operation in a sovereign country outside a declared war? One person, Obama. Obama was aware real time, it was the middle of the afternoon in Washington DC.

It was a political calculation to call it a protest...then Obama had a taco and went to bed early. He went to bed with the comfort that Tomorrow’s headline would not be “Terrorist attack on 9-11”

I don’t think he slept through that phone call. Why would the Democrats admit he slept through this? It makes their guy look bad. They don’t do that...unless....the truth is worse. He was engaged, but there was nothing he could do. His poor earlier decisions left him standing their with a sore behind because al-Qaeda just put a boot up his behind. The sleeping story, while bad, is just a cover to deflect from his stupid policies that resulted in four dead Americans.
