The decision to drop our of high school, to join a gang, to do drugs, to have babies before marriage and a job....all these decisions practically guarantee a life of poverty.

Lyndon Johnson’s “War on Poverty” has been a catastrophic failure. Many trillions of taxpayer dollars later, it should be obvious that government programs only make these problems worse, because many bureaucrats infest the process and have their own financial interest in keeping poverty going.

Individual responsibility takes away power from the self-defined “elite”.

THAT’S why they can’t allow the poor to believe that they had anything to do with their situation nor can they allow them to believe they can do anything about it.
