First Person: These Iowa Women Give Romney a Second Look
Yahoo News ^ | Sherry Tomfeld

When I saw Fox News reporting that women were starting to poll higher for Mitt Romney, I could relate. I have three girlfriends in Iowa, and we're all willing to vote for Romney. Oddly, none of us backed him in caucus early in the year. My first choice was Ron Paul; my friend Cathy's was Newt Gingrich; Pat's was Herman Cain and Kim did not have a favorite. Needless to say, this little political bunch of women had widely varying views of what we wanted in a president.

The women in my immediate family are Romney supporters. I know that he was not a first choice in this household, but he has grown on all of us.

I have to say that last time around..I knew some people that voted for O. This time around? They won't even speak his name. I really believe that women are going to go for Romney and go big.

my friend Cathy's was Newt Gingrich

Obviously, her friend Cathy is the smart one of the group!

I’m sharing my nail tech poll. I’ve been getting my nails done by the same woman since the early 90s. Since 1980 she has voted for the winner in every presidential election, every single one. And she watched the debate last week and really likes Romney and thinks she would be okay if he won but is still leaning towards O. I just texted her the photo of Biteme’s photo next to the joker and Ryan’s photo next to Batman. Haven’t heard back. But she did think that the only criticism she had of Romney was that he smiled too much. LOL

The jig is up. It’s decision time. Back in the primary days you could pick based on ideology. People are facing up to the choice of 4 more years or Mitt. I suspect Mitt will go up by 5-10 more points.

I didn’t vote for Romney in the primary but I’m leaning that way in the general election.

To me (as a wife and mom) he seems more likeable than Obama, having all those kids and grandkids and speaking highly of his wife.

Their family seems more genuine.

Comparing Obama and Romney it seems like Romney is better educated and more of an achiever.

I like all those traits.

As asked on Twitter - what color is the sky in undecided voter land? One sun, or two?

The choice is between Romney and four more years to allow Obama to destroy our country—the choice is easy—I’ll proudly vote for Romney.
