One thing that is equal in sadness if being supervised by people who are stupid and far less qualified than you are. But, that’s affirmative action for you. Recruit, hire, and promote inferior people. It somehow justifies something, but I’m still not quite sure what it is.

That does stink, but it often provides a measure of job security; I’ve seen this with women who sleep with the right bosses, and thought they get promotions they don’t have the desire or knowledge to actually do any work. They hide behind the competent/capable people, and basically “play office” on the company’s dime.
