Allah is a word for God. In Arabic, the word means simply “the God.”

True enough. The word "hallelujah" is derived from that word. Sometimes you see it spelled "alleluia".

But still, in its modern incarnation, it's pretty well understood to be a reference to the god of islam.

Yes, I agree that if he used this explanation, it is going to be very difficult to convince Americans that he isn’t identifying with Allah of Islam.

Otherwise, why not use YWHW instead? A term used by Judaeo-Christians?

Not true. Not even close. The shoresh (root verb in Semitic languages) in Hebrews is yud-hey. There is no lamed as there is in the Arabic word. Not related in any way, except in the minds of globalists who don’t let facts get in their way.
