Matalin to Krugman: ‘You’re Hardly Credible on Calling Someone Else a Liar’
National Review Online ^ | October 7, 2012 | Katrina Trinko

Posted on 10/07/2012 11:22:55 AM PDT by Cincinatus' Wife

In the roundtable discussion on This Week, Peggy Noonan’s analysis of last week’s debate lead to a heated exchange between Paul Krugman and Mary Matalin.

“We will look back on it as a historic moment in this election,” Noonan said of the debate. “It upended things. This is what it it upended: Barack Obama was supposed to be the sort of moderate, centrist fellow who looked at Mitt Romney, this extreme strange fellow. By the time that debate was over, Mitt Romney seemed a completely moderate, centrist figure who showed up as mitt Romney the governor, not as Mitt Romney the candidate.”

“Except that everything he used to prove his centrism wasn’t true,” retorted Krguman.

When Noonan called that criticism “unjust,” Krugman responded, ““When you say my plan covers pre-existing conditions when it doesn’t, and when your own campaign has admitted in the past that it doesn’t, what do you say? That’s amazing.”

At that point, Matalin told Krugman, “You have mischaracterized and you have lied about every position and every particular of the Ryan Plan on medicare from the efficiency of Medicare administration to calling it a voucher plan, so you’re hardly credible on calling someone else a liar.”

Spending 24 hours a day calling b*llsh*t on James Carville must make dealing with phony like Krugman seem like child’s play.

Gotta admit, though, I love the Mitsubishi Matalin/Carville commercials.

Biden Takes 6 Days Off Campaign Trail - Debate Prep

"With just about a month until Election Day, Vice President Joe Biden is in the middle of taking nearly a week off the campaign trail. He will return to doing campaign events on Thursday, when he will debate Rep. Paul Ryan in the vice presidential debate

On Friday, October 5, according to the White House, Biden spent the day working. In the morning, he was scheduled to attend the presidential daily briefing in the Oval Office, with President Obama. That afternoon Biden was to "meet with senior advisors," according to the White House.

For this weekend, the White House provided the following guidance: "The Vice President will be in Wilmington, Delaware. There are no public events scheduled."

As for the next three days, Biden will remain in Delaware. "On Monday through Wednesday, the Vice President will be in Wilmington, Delaware. There are no public events scheduled."

Meanwhile, Thursday, October 11, is a big day for Biden. "On Thursday, the Vice President and Dr. Jill Biden will travel to Danville, Kentucky. In the evening, the Vice President will participate in the Vice Presidential Debate at Centre College. Dr. Biden will also attend. This event is open to pre-credentialed media."

So while Biden is taking 6 days off the campaign trail at a crucial time in the presidential campaign, it's likely that he isn't completely off. He is said to be spending time with David Axelrod and other campaign advisers preparing for Thursday's debate."

I’m certainly no Carville fan, but next to Krugman, he is downright likable. He plays on the wrong team but doesn’t play as dirty and dishonest as Krugman. Krugman belongs on MSNBC - or the entire MSNBC line-up should be writing for NYT . Two of the most dishonest media outlets ever!

Damn, that was good...about time he was smacked down..

Betcha serpent-head even enjoyed that...

Krugman is a vile worm...

He is just about the most dishonest "economist" (I use that term lightly) in the USA...

An economist is suppose to be apolitical in their analysis...

Certainly they can take a position political, but not cook the numbers or outright lie about them..

“Krugman seems more rodent-like by the day ....”

When I look at his face, which in and of itself, is disgusting, it reminds me of the south end of a northbound baboon!

“he was scheduled to attend the presidential daily briefing in the Oval Office”

Two questions: Did he actually attend or was he just scheduled?

Was this one of the briefings Obama doesn’t attend?

Yes. Whenever Biden attends, he just looks for the empty chair; it's just hard to tell when Obama is sitting there.

Krugman's such a hack.

And when a liberal brings up, "He has a Nobel Prize in Economics" like it's some sort of defense for Krugman, I just point out that Yassir Arafat has a Nobel Prize for peace, and he deployed hundreds of suicide bombers to kill men, women and children.

The Nobel Committee is five knuckleheads from Norway, with an inordinate ability to impress dimwitted American leftists.

When you say my plan covers pre-existing conditions when it doesn’t...

I saw the debate. Maybe I was dozing at times, but it seems to me that Romney was speaking specifically of the Massachusetts Healthcare Plan which was enacted while he was gov.

He said, and I paraphrase, “...and yes, my plan covered pre-existing conditions...”

The premise of this discussion was that the issue should be a state’s responsibility, not the federal government’s.

Did I miss-hear what Romney said? Or, are the Libs taking something out of context and mis-characterizing - as usual?

That sound you heard was the average IQ for all DE residents being cut in half. I haven’t seen this much of a nosedive since the stock market in October 2008.

Actuall, putting him under wraps for four dsys is the best thing the RATs can do. If Biden sits at home, he can’t make any gaffes.

Saw that Rat Bastard this morning. Hideous rodent! He was touting this as a normal type recovery. No one brought up why it is so tepid in the face of Bernanke’s Defcon 2 level support. Amps turned up to 11 and we can barely hear it.

I bet his parents kicked him out of the house early and then threw a party in celebration of the peace and quiet.

I have been thinking of posting both of those commercials here. Both of them are funny to those of us who know who Carville and Matalin are
