Here is my favorite:
6. Mitt Romney had one of the best and most destructive lines I have ever heard in a debate: when he compared Obama talking to things his five sons would say when they were small children and tried to get him to believe their lies. This was wonderful. Ive never seen a grown man humiliated this way before being compared to small children and not being able to give any sort of retort because it was totally accurate. Romney did this after Obama kept insisting that Romney would raise taxes by $5 trillion or some nonsense. Romney kept saying that Obama was wrong and told him to stop repeating that. Obama wouldnt, so Romney had to finally tell him that just because he keeps saying something doesnt make it true and then Romney said, you know, I raised five boys and theyd often keep saying something until they thought Id believe it and it never worked. Obama put his head down after that and didnt try that $5 trillion thing again. Romney totally scolded Obama and Obama had no retort for it. It. Was. Epic.
You bet. That was devestating. Not only did it point out that Romney is a bigger family man than Obama it was an analogy that every parent can relate to and understand. I guarantee there were 20 million heads nodding when he said that.
Another great line:
“You are entitled to your house and airplane, but not your own facts.”
I think that FR is overwhelming that website- I can’t get there now.
And if you listened carefully you heard a number of people in the audience gasp after he made that comment...it was a Joe Wilson “You Lie” moment with velvet gloves.
The jerky head movement, the twitchy legs, the failure to look at Romney, the desperate weaving and bobbing trying to find the Sorosprompters, the ludicrous and statements, the hemming and hawing ... somethin' just ain't all right here.
Maybe Mitt or somebody ought to challenge this guy to a drug screen.
