What tickles me is that people in the north think they have inherited some imagined moral high ground, when the facts are, there were more slave states under the US flag than there were under the Confederate flag, the war did NOT begin with the intention of freeing the slaves, and that there is NOTHING moral about freeing the black man while at the same time denying liberty to white Southerners. (A demonstration of hypocrisy totally lost on northerners.)
Such facts usually are enough to shut up even the most ignorant “Civil War” debaters, but some the less intelligent ones just can’t help themselves.

I find it mighty curious to see people calling themselves conservatives coming to a conservative website venerating a bunch of racist Southern plutocrats who were democrats. The bottom line is Mr. “Lost Causer’’ is once a Democrat always a Democrat. I know damn well the history. No, it wasn’t Lincoln initial intention to free the slaves but the South certainly wasn’t fighting to free them either. ‘’The ‘’liberty’’ you claim denied to white Southerners was the right of a class to own slaves and property, the war the South started wasn’t of any benefit to poor white Southerners.
