DARRELL ISSA SAYS REQUESTS FOR BETTER PROTECTION WERE DENIED

By Posted :27 PM CDT

1 image Touch for photo gallery (NEWSER) – The White House response to the attack on the US consulate in Benghazi keeps generating headlines. Today, Republicans Darrell Issa and Jason Chaffetz laid out about a dozen incidents they say occurred prior to the Sept. 11 attack that killed Ambassador Chris Stevens. In their letter to Hillary Clinton, they assert "the US mission in Libya made repeated requests for increased security in Benghazi," but all were denied by officials in Washington. Asked about it today, White House spokesman Jay Carney said, "I'm not going to get into a situation under review by the State Department and the FBI," reports ABC News.

Eli Lake of the Daily Beast first reported the letter, which includes allegations that: Two former consulate security guards threw explosive devices over the facility's fence in April, an event previously unreported, says Politico. The letter also notes that an explosive device detonated in June. Militants posted Stevens' morning jogging route in Tripoli on Facebook, along with a photo of him. The ambassador reportedly stopped his runs for a week, then resumed them. (This might explain why Stevens suspected he was on an al-Qaeda hit list, though he was also an "old-school diplomat" who bristled at the notion of too much security, a State Department official tells the Daily Beast.) “Was State Department headquarters in Washington aware of all the above incidents?” ask Issa and Chaffetz of the House Oversight Committee. “If not, why not?” (The nation's intelligence chief has defended the shifting US explanations of the Benghazi assault, from spontaneous violence to planned attack, and Republicans are pouncing on reports of weak security.)

Nancy P already declared it the GOP’s fault for withholding some funding.

So there you have it. It’s the GOP’s fault.

Hillary to Issa: You should reserve judgment about Benghazi until … November:

In the meantime, Hillary Clinton stonewalls on Darrell Issa's request for co-operation in this congressional investigation.

Should Rep. Darrell Issa issue a contempt of Congress warning to Hillary Clinton if she and this administration does not comply to his requests or refuses to co-operate ?

" Nancy P already declared it the GOP’s fault for withholding some funding.

How can Nancy Pelosi blame the Republicans for blocking funding and for not beefing up security at the US Embassy in Libya when the Obama administration had sufficient funding in his request of $ 1.5 BILLION to give to the Libyan Rebel alliance in 2011 ?

Isn't $ 300 Million the entire budget of the State Dept. ?

Forgive me if I am less than excited. The core of the problem is that the GOP has spent this whole 4 years ducking, dodging and ignoring the attachment of consequence to any of the myriad crimes, scandals and breaches of National Security committed by this admin.

Now that the SHTF in grand style, they are more impotent than ever and lack ANY credibility to address the issue.

ObamaCo has ignored even the Milquetoast admonishments they HAVE managed to randomly manage.

In short, we are in this mess because the GOP is too incompetent to actually address and solve the problem constitutional. Am I wrong? Hell no. So out of 200+ GOP in congress, including Issa, WTF can’t ONE of them grow a pair and do his/her freaking job?

Start the damn impeachment/defunding. And no, I don’t care that it may harm the ‘GOP chances” in the election. They won’t do a damn thing even if they DO win.

Darrell Issa should demand the State Department turn over important documents and records before they have time to shred them and get rid of any evidence.
