Romney overcame similar deficit in ’02 race

About six weeks before a crucial election, and shortly after he had secured the Republican nomination, Mitt Romney was trailing badly. Voters had unfavorable views of him. They didn’t think he cared for people like them. Women overwhelmingly favored his opponent.

The year was 2002.

The article seems to want to raise expectations for the debate; it indicates that when Romney was down, he used the debates to mount a comeback.

So of course Thursday morning we will be reading how Romney blew it against the brilliant Kenyan.

Romney needs to take the stage as if HE IS THE PRESIDENT.

This is very true. We were all told it would be a long night and we wouldn’t know the victor until morning. Romney was ahead by ten points by 9:30 and it was over.
