I would not dream of talking down to you, whose dedicated work on this Forum benefits many, certainly including me. It's just how I write, TSR.

And I contacted everyone who was signed onto the thread, regardless of the wide range of opinion represented, to speak about the contradiction of people wasting their time to come on a thread about her to say they would never waste their time on her again.

I think BufordP's response summed it up, although the percentages would vary quite widely.

Because I had a favorable experience at her open house does not mean I agree with every word she writes, with the way she expresses herself at all times, or any other permutation of idol worship of which you accuse me. I believe in taking the best from every situation and person and giving them space and time to rethink their clunkers before damning them to oblivion.

It's never a good idea to align oneself so totally with any other human being that they cannot make a mistake without one's coming unglued. The depth of your bitterness indicates to me that you are the one who had been idolizing her, and are now disillusioned.

I have been inspired by her ever since Treason and have been consistently informed and entertained by much of her work. I give her credit where credit is due, and like many, stand in hopes that she will rethink some of her social liberalism. But I do not worship her and never have.

I researched your contention. All I could find was that she called Newt the "least conservative" and "least electable" of the slate of Republican primary candidates.

The guy whom she called "selfish swine" was Todd Akin, the fellow who said women can't get pregnant from rape. She was referring to his staying in the race when it might cost Republicans the Senate -- a legitimate concern.

I replied to him in post 62, and the second paragraph explains that I was most certainly not aiming at any individuals, but at a wide range of FReeper opinion represented in this thread. If you must take everything personally, or feel talked down to every time someone disagrees with you and has the background, experience or confidence in their opinion not to be at all phased by your snarking, you will need body armor to participate on this Forum.
