“Green energy” was precisely one of the things that brought down Spain. It killed hundreds of thousands of jobs in the energy and manufacturing sectors and raised the cost of electricity (because wind power actually has to be subsidized). Not to mention the damage done to the beautiful Spanish environment by the ranks of these huge, roaring windmills.

It is my opinion that the lion’s share of the cause of the economic problems that have been experienced by the US in the last 5 decades is overbearing regulations. It has diverted labor and capital investment from important PRODUCTIVE activities into unProductive activity. I believe that some of the most egregious examples of this unproductive (or less productive) activity is in the field of energy production and utilization.

“Green energy” is only one facet of this distortion of the economy which would instead would be created without these distortions.
