I heard (or maybe read) some of this elsewhere. It’s funny because I said to a gal at work the other day “I wonder how many “man in the street” responders when asked: who is the vice president? would say: Mitt Romney.

It shows how very, very little people pay attention to things. I mean, I’m pretty sure they chose/included only the stupidest answers, but still, they’re out there.

But, I also think the responses show the fair mindedness of the American people. They do not hold it against people that they are black, mormon, etc. And this IS true and that is a good thing.

If only people were better informed, that would be an improvement.

You have no idea how many people they had to interview before they got to cherrypick the stupidest answers and you also have no idea how many people were intentionally giving stupid answers just to get their 15 minutes of fame, however dubious.

"Man on the street" interviews like this are a waste of time good for entertainment and nothing else. A spontaneous outburst from someone like the free phone lady is real gold.
