Its sort of conspiratorial/tinfoil but these days todays tinfoil seems to be tomorrows news. Take it for what its worth. Maybe something maybe nothing.
Long story short. The ambassador and staff were set up as part of a wag the dog scenario for political points before the debates. An attack was set up with low level AQ contractors for a hostage taking and resulting SEAL rescue with the consulate staff rescued and the hostage takers taking a dirt nap. Obama gets to play the hero and all is well in the world going into the first debates. The problem was the AQ boys higher-ups got wind of the OP and compromised the low level guys by buying them out for more money and the OP goes from hostage taking to all out kill/burn and send a message to BO and company not to get out of line. The OP goes down and the AQ guys are ecstatic. They now have major blackmail intell on OB/Jarret/Axelrod etc. They are on their cellphones chatting back and forth.
Panneta & Petraues quickly know AQ was involved. Cleaner teams ( Delta?) are sent in to mop up and send a message back to AQ to mind their P & Q. It all reads like a Tom Clancy novel but can explain the curious reactions of OB/Hillary and company. OB is scared and goes silent. The FBI is kept in check. The Rats only want to investigate after the election. The disjointed response from the WH. The embassy in Beirut quickly burning classified material etc.
This is just a paraphrasing but makes for interesting reading
IF it was about the little movie, then the protestors would have tried to storm the EMBASSy in Tripoli like they did in Cairo!

I think it was a Carter type bungle. I find it strange that 30 plus people escaped yet the ambassador was found separated from the group and dead. I think it was a kidnap attempt on the ambassador to put pressure on the administration to release the blind sheik. Rescue attempt went really bad, leaving the ambassador dead. I want to hear from the 30+ people who were rescued and from the rest of the team sent in to rescue them. No way it was only the 2 ex seals.
