These events seem to be aligning to kill Romney’s chances.

Romney is in PA saying that budget cuts will cost a lot of jobs, while the Dems say all you have to do is make a deal to raise taxes on "the rich" so we can continue spending. I think neither side has the guts to control spending, and if they did, there might be enough voters who want to protect their "Obama Money" to destroy any party that actually would stop the fiscal bleeding.

The budget cuts that the Boehner House rammed through.

Taxing the rich (the R opposition to) as a response to proposed budget cuts is a populist idea and somewhat effective. The fact that it doesnt collect much revenue or that Obama didnt want to do it till Boehner took over doesnt seem to make it less effective. That is why GWB and T Delay gave everyone candy, not tax increases and no cuts. Tax cuts and spending increases both together keep everyone happy.

As I say, Romney is a walking living ad for taxing the rich. He is the wrong person for this. Dems couldnt have wished up anyone better.
