The only problem is, your figures would look worse every few days, and it would be hard to keep up with the changing numbers. Next week it might be 19 trillion in debt, $6 gas, and 12 % unemployment,-—and so on.

I like your idea! However, I'd change the order of the numbers, going from 4 to 8 to 16. That way we can say, "Those bad numbers keep getting bigger".

Oh, and speaking of $4 gas, isn't it amazing how silent the MSM is on that subject? When gas prices went up under Bush, every other story was about how badly it was hurting Americans.
