This incident reminded me how badly we need a genuine conservative party. Republicans like Rove, Kristol, Will, etc. just suck.

So while we are twisting in the wind over a single dumb comment, we are denying ourselves a principled conservative -- someone who will fight the unglamorous but necessary battles that all the others ignore.

It's not the single, dumb rape comment that may well cost Akin the seat. It's the other comments he's made and which he will make that could do it.

R&R are going to win Missouri. I don't see many people pulling the lever for them and switching over to Ubama's little girl for Senator.

Hopefully we can now declare the “Akin watch party” officially over. He is our candidate, period. Let us move forward and try to get him elected. Six more years of ministration by the miscreant Mother McCaskill is a fate worse than death...

Republicans of every stripe denounced him and called for his resignation.

They shriveled like raisins under the magnification of liberal media memes. Spineless, gutless, unprincipled chickens, intellectually lazy, unwilling to pause and study the meaning and intent of Akins' remarks. How Malkin and Levin et al are counted among them is beyond me. Rove and his ilk, not so much. We do not deserve to live in a free country if we indulge ignorant, lemming-like behavior when it comes to protecting and defending the lives of innocent unborn citizens. Akin's got more principle than the bulk of the population. He ought to be counted as one of the best conservative candidates possible. [He's already planning jails and execution chambers for all those raped women who abort their children! /s]

Yep, it’s up to the people of Missouri now. What happens in this election McCaskill vs. Akin is going to tell us a lot more about the voters of Missouri than it does about Todd Akin.

While I called for Akin to drop out intitially too, when I saw the worthless moderate to liberal retreads the establishment wanted to replace him with on the ballot, I got pissed. The NRSC never batted an eye in funding Specter, Snowe, Murkowski, Crist, Jeffords, Collins, McCain, and any other moderate candidate for the senate, no matter what they said or did, no matter the betrayals, the backstabbing, the liberal votes. Yet when Akin says something impolitic and inartful, they immediately throw him under the bus and try to replace him with another of their moderate stooges.

I hope Akin wins, and I think he will.

Here’s the choice: Akin has a 97% lifetime American conservative Union rating. McCaskill has a 15% ACU rating which is actually lower than Harry Reid’s 18%. In 2006 we were all so happy to get rid of Chaffee and his 35% ACU. We got Whitehouse with his 1.6% ACU. Chaffee is a skunk but we lost 33% of ACU rating. Akin is a good man, lets not loses him.
Send him something, I did. http://www.akin.org/
