Here is the most profound insight of the week I can give you — in American politics, if a Republican candidate loses, the media blames it on the candidate being too conservative. If a Republican candidate wins, the media credits the candidate drifting toward the center. The only sure fire loser in American politics is the conservative movement, which is remarkable given the amazing success the conservative movement has had in spite of this.

What we are seeing now on the political landscape is a growing consensus among opinion makers and average voters that Mitt Romney cannot win the election. It is not true. He can, in fact, still win. The election is, in fact, exceeding close. But the Romney campaign is a victim of a perception it itself has helped foster. Like John McCain before him, Romney seems more at ease punching other Republicans than his Democrat opponent. The public is picking up on this and perceive him unwilling or unable to fight for victory. The public is, mentally, beginning to grow weary of this campaign and Romney must work to change perception if he is to win.

Keep that in mind as I make a very simple point. There are a lot of elitist Republicans who have spent several years telling us Mitt Romney was the only electable Republican. Because the opinion makers and news media these elitists hang out with have concluded Romney will not win, the elitists are in full on panic mode. They conspired to shut out others, tear down others, and prop up Romney with the electability argument. He is now not winning against the second coming of Jimmy Carter.

So they are in a panic. They are now throwing Romney under the bus to spare themselves. They are now doing the, “It’s not us, it’s him” routine. For years these people have gotten by knowing that they could hold the base of the GOP in contempt while holding on to their precious positions of “thought leaders” within the conservative movement and have no consequence should things go awry. ......Exactly my feelings

The staggering irony is that those of us who did not want Romney are now the ones defending him to the hilt while the elitist jerks are distancing themselves from Romney as quickly as possible — both upset at what their media friends tell them is to come and upset that Mitt Romney might not actually listen to their sweet whispers as much as they originally presumed.......Boehner,McConnell,Bill Kristol just to name a few.

The media and the Republican elite said Ronald Reagan was not electable in 1976 and 1980. They said Reagan was too extreme and too polarizing. Throughout the campaign the media supported Jimmy Carter and campaigned for his reelection. Almost all major publications endorsed Jimmy Carter in 1980 and Walter Mondale in 1984. When Reagan won there was anger on the part of the media.

They said the low turnout was the reason for Carter’s loss. They said the American people didn’t really want Reagan.

Throughout Reagan’s first term the media said Reagan would be a one term president and would not get reelected.

That is what is happening over the country and what has and is, happening on this forum.

If Romney loses, Paul Ryan and conservatives will get the blame. Its something I’m sure Sarah Palin recognizes.

Tuesday night, Republican National Convention. Rules vote. Boehner at the gavel.

On orders from the Ruling Class who foisted Romney on us, with the help of the Obama media and Obama’s stated preference of him as opponent - that night, the Ruling Class oligarchs rendered Conservatism and grass roots activism dead and irrelevant in national politics.

‘nuff said.

I grow more convinced every day that just about every so-called media Republican and every Ruling Class Republican, are in fact, working FOR the Democrats and Obama as Trojan horses in our midst.

They foist Romney on us - tell us he is the only candidate that can “win” against Obama. Then after treachery and assassination of every Conservative candidate in the primary, now that Romney is the nominee - they are engaged in sabotage of the very one they foisted on us.

As I contend - this election is no election at all. It’s a shell game, a ruse like the Soviets would offer in their ‘elections’ of a mythical ‘choice’ the ruling Cabal itself would choose to placate the masses and convince them they have a say in their nation’s politics. There is no “winning” this election.

Conservatism has already lost, even if Romney “wins”.

I doubt highly he is going to “win”, since the fruits continue to lead to the thought that Romney was told to hold back his punches and take a dive to the mat in the final round.

This election appears to be a rigged, fixed fight with a predetermined outcome.

Just like they have in Cook County.

I've been gone today. I made that short post and had to leave after that. Yes, Romney people Sununu, and Romney's lawyer, struck down conservatives with that rule and Boehner knew that vote did not pass but he said it did, anyway. They were going to crush conservatives, period, and they did.

Romney thought he didn't need conservatives, so he cut them out for the future plus figured they would have to vote for him if he was the candidate. That worked and the vast majority of conservatives are voting for him, and, guess what, the Independents and Democrats he thought he would get, seem to be going for Hussein. Maybe he isn't the golden winner he and his GOPe thought he was.

If Romney doesn't win, the GOPe will do the same thing in 2016, get their own nominated, and, once again, the conservatives will vote for that candidate and he won't win, either.

My tagline says Republican Conservatism is dead and that is true.
