Probably nothing. I'm sure they keep him insulated from this level of operation. Or they mention it to him while he's golfing, so it goes in one ear and out the other.

"This is an attack against a federal campaign office, which is an attack on our democracy as a whole. It's an attack against what we stand for, for free elections," Grimm, a first-term incumbent, said." Well said, Congressman Grimm. Hopefully, as former FBI man, Grimm has enough clout to see that the case gets the attention from law enforcement it deserves.
I would suspect some far left bunch as the perpetrators, with a self-righteous denial coming from the local Democratic organization.
BTW, this is not the first time a Republican Staten Island congressman's office has been vandalized. Back in the early 1990s, Susan Molinari's office had its windows shot through by a gunman. But that was not during the height of a campaign.

LOL! An old Watergate cartoon! What was the original source?
Although this Staten Island incident and Watergate may appear on first glance to have similarities, the main goal of the Watergate break-in may have had little to do with sabotaging George McGovern's presidential campaign.
G. Gordon Liddy, who did some jail time in the aftermath of Watergate, wrote a book in which he discussed a prostitution ring operating out of the burglarized DNC headquarters. John Dean was apparently heavily involved romantically with one of those women, and the impetus for the break-in, according to Liddy, was to destroy evidence of that relationship, which, if it were ever to be made public, would be a major election year scandal that the Nixon White House was trying to avoid. Dean later sued Liddy for defamation in connection with Liddy's Watergate theory and the case was dismissed.

Original original?
Dunno, a Yahoo search found it here:

I'd hate to think that many '74 smugbags like Patrick Leahy are STILL in office because John Dean was dating a hooker.

Dean didn’t just date her, he married her (Maureen). Mo was a ho. Type in “Maureen Dean” and “prostitute” into Google and you won’t come up empty-handed.

Oh that’s okay again, who cares about a democrat landslide as long as Dean found true love. :-S
