Romney could have boosted his tax rate by simply lowering his charitable contributions to the same level that he deducted. Then, there would have been no “manipulation”.

But instead, he did both. He made a larger charitable contribution AND he paid more taxes. Both the charities and the government benefited.

Only the Democrats could find something to complain about.

The problem is that Romney said in July “I DON”T PAY MORE than are legally due. I don’t think I’d be QUALIFIED to become President. I think people would want me to follow the law and pay ONLY what the tax code requires. Why in the world would he say that and then turn around and do it?

Only to a delusional Democrat would a man who paid almost 2 million in taxes be a bad guy, and a man who cheated on his taxes (Geitner) is perfectly okay.
