Obama is an accelerant. The fuel is idiotic federal policies going back decades.

Obama May Be the End of the Line for the US. It was all over 30+ years ago when we substituted debt for productivity in order to maintain an illusion of wealth and maintain living standards to which we had become accustomed.
The smartest guys in the room (bankers) seized this opportunity and rode the Ponzi till it inevitably collapsed. Knowing it would eventually collapse, due to a combination of exponential math & diminishing marginal returns, is another key facet of their advanced strategic planning.
The sheeple simply have no clue - they are hopelessly behind the OODA loop. It makes no difference who is elected - the ship has sailed and our nation's appointment with destiny is proceeding apace.
The next steps are price controls, rationing, service caps, mandated contributions (via taxes & insurance - see Roberts' decision) and structured inflation. With the purposeful stripping of remaining assets and die-off of (white) boomers, combined with the continued flood of immigration and non-family births, the 99/1 pyramid will firmly be in place.
The question one should be asking themselves, similar to what Germans & Japanese in 1944/45 had to decide, is when to face reality and jump to the other side. Not to D or R, but whether to help & enable the fascist regime in order to make it through the bottleneck.

America and Americans are a lot tougher than you think.
If Romney loses, and I suspect he will, Conservatives are not going to drop to the ground and curl up in the fetal position and give in. I'm sick and tired of people who are just willing to give up because of an election. People like you were saying the same thing in 2008, and yet we still survived and we put a few more Conservatives in Congress in 2010, and God willing, a few more in 2012. Romney's selection as the nominee will help get a lot more Conservatives elected in 2014, because Conservatives are finally waking up to the fact that we are being used and abused by the GOP.
The ONLY way that Obama could destroy this country is with the help of Republicans in Congress. While we do have many RINOs in Congress that would help Obama, Conservatives have been making progress here and there, and we have another round of elections in 2014.
If you want to give up, that's your prerogative.
