You are probably correct. However, it appears, and I think he is wrong on this, that former presidents do not interfere with current presidents.
I get he respects the OFFICE of the president, as I do as well, I can not see anyone respecting the man himself.
If I could wave a wand and make GW Bush say something I would but I can’t.

nearly every evil done by this monster in the White House had its genesis in the term of George Bush. His first term, aside from his bizarre view of Islam, wasn’t that bad but his second was an utter catastrophe.

So we must respect the office of the president even if its occupant intends to destroy the country?

This means that the intangible office of the president is more important than the tangible welfare of the country and its 300 million citizens.

Wow, the logic escapes me.
