It is disturbing. Not because they trumped up other "fraud" charges to rely on, and not even because so many "law and order" types are placated by such nonsense. But because even if the guy had some other kind of fraud or lawlessness, law enforcement CANNOT contribute to even the APPEARANCE that he is being arrested for making the movie.
They ought to back off and say, "well, whatever else he did, we support his right to irritate people with free speech."
