Still doesn’t explain what he was doing in Benghazi at the Consulate offices at that hour. Our embassy is in Tripoli at the western side of libya, Benghazi, the first stronghold of the rebels is on the east.
So far as I’ve read, the consulate is offices only, no residence, so the question remains.
What business did the Ambassador and his IT guy have there at 9-10pm local time if the offices are closed?
