Guess so, makes sense in the Straits. A more appropriate response to prevent a nuke strike on Israel would be a few B1-B or B-2 Aircraft with the appropriate payload.

In regards to the use of the term, "battleship":
The carriers are supported by at least 12 battleships, including ballistic missile cruisers, frigates, destroyers and assault ships carrying thousand of US Marines and special forces.
It appears the author of the article thinks the terms "battleship" and "warship" are interchangeable.
