I think the detention of people who gave substantial aid to AlQeada is a good idea, starting with Obama and Hillary for their actions in Libya.

The NDAA indefinite detention stautes were so broad that any US citizen could be targeted for whatever reason a US president chose. The Bill of Rights has been under attack at beakneck speed ever since 9-11. The whole point is that is was NOT limited to those aid 'Al Qaeda'. This cannot be looked at through a simple partisan lens, as there will presidents of both parties who would have these powers, be they Red Team or Blue Team. It was a profound stripping away of civil/legal rights that had been hard won throughout centuries of struggle in the West, from Magna Carta days onward.

They who can give up essential liberty to obtain a little temporary safety, deserve neither liberty nor safety, and most assuredly will soon be bereft of both. -- Benjamin Franklin
