The first one starts out like this:
"How many of you in this room have ever heard any teacher, counselor or administrator say anything GOOD about firearms? GUNS?" No hands up. "Okay, did you know that shooting is an Olympic sport and this last Olympics we brought home gold and other medals? How about as a PROFESSIONAL sport which just like other athletes can earn lots of money? How about as a multi billion dollar industry that employs thousands of people and if you include accessories and ammunition perhaps tens of thousands of people? They usually look bewildered. That's good I keep hitting that thru the year.
"Okay here is another example: How many of you have ever heard any teacher, counselor or administrator say anything BAD about the United Nations?" NONE. "And yet many of the nations that belong to that organization HATE us more than anything on Earth. We'll talk about that more later this year..."
I'm not alone, either. So please don't paint us all with the same ugly brush. Okay?
I read your home page and I apologize to you or any other conservative teacher in the government school system fighting the good fight. My hyperbole got the better of me.
