I’ve asked the same questions. I can’t believe Israeli intelligence didn’t know of these plans. And believing so, would be amazed they didn’t pass it on to American intelligence, even with our deteriorating relationship.
So, let’s say that’s true. What then? Did we take it seriously? If not, why not? If so, why wasn’t the president appraised, even given his hatred for such meetings? And regardless whether he was appraised or not, why wasn’t embassy/consulate staff beefed up or more security provided? Why did we apparently rely on local security personnel instead? So many questions. Obama’s not attending meetings is only the tip of the iceberg on this detestable situation.
Maybe this is why Israel PM wanted to meet POTUS
