Can I just ask how the heck they found this or who even stopped to look. Most of my construction worker friends would have either stepped on it, drove a grader over it or more then likely not even taken notice of it as they went about their jobs.

Who stops when they see a spider - especially at a construction site - and says “I wonder if this is on the endangered species list, let me call the government and check”

Excellent point. I know I don’t usually bother to look for insects when working outside—especially when building structures. If I do notice a spider, I ignore them.

Anytime they do a big project like this, they have to hire environmental “consultants”, and pay them to go poking around looking for any stuff like this that they can use as an excuse to halt construction. It’s totally absurd.
