If we really just wanted the oil in this case, we would have supported these countries’ former governments - but suddenly we’ve gone ideological. And what is the ideology we’re supporting? Islam.

Obama was complicit in the destruction of both of these governments, which while they were undeniably dictatorships, were much more tolerant of non-Muslims, women, etc., and had generally been brought/bought to cooperate with us.

It was about oil once, but now it’s about ideology: Obama’s anti-American, Third World Islamist fantasy being promoted with our dollars, and oil be damned.

After all, we’ ll all be using solar pretty soon once he funds another solyndra. This man is killing us.

Sorry to sound hysterical. I’m so angry this morning that I can barely swallow my coffee.

Well Dear Leader Jessup, please tell us how all should think and vote. Were you all in for McCain’s big confluence with the Brotherhood in Libya and Egypt?

Is it time to say that this wouldn’t have happened under Qaddafi? Obama has replaced largely secular dictators and replaced them with transnational Islamists in order to pave the way for the creation of the Greater Caliphate. Assad is next, then the unified attack on Israel.

Not to make light of this situation, but I see a strongly worded letter coming from the WH very soon.

Nah, this doesn't warrant a letter in his eyes. Maybe a postcard...

Do we have a response from NASA yet?

It is enormously complicated, as you point out.

I think we may see other attacks on US interests in the very near future, at least in part because it’s not clear that we have the immediate resolve to defend them - or any long-term strategic plan for the region or even its oil supplies.

I think Obama probably does see this as a chance to “get back” at the West (Dinesh D’Souza’s characterization of him seems very accurate to me) and everybody else in the government, including the most useless and unempowered SOS ever, is really adrift. We actually don’t seem to have any policy anymore.

And Nature abhors a vacuum...

Things could certainly get very rough.

Spot on. This is Obama’s Hilary driven foreign policy. It’s unfolding right now in Syria. Egypt was a cesspool. What will it be now? Libya was stable. Obama is a failure both domestically and internationally.

But, if we just limit it to Obama we miss the train. Obama’s politices are the policies of central planning: That some very, very smart people can run things for the rest of us.

The Ivy League kills again.

More to come, I fear. Obama won’t do anything.

You pegged it.

Some of us, namely me, have had enough of this garbage from the Islamofascists. We could have been at least half way to the solution if the US had taken the approach BlueLancer and many others proposed over a decade ago, to whit:

-------------------------------------

200 years from now, I want their children's children's children
to cower and cringe in fear whenever they hear the sounds of jet engines overhead
because their legends tell of fire from the sky.

I want them to hide in dark caves and holes in the earth,
shivering with terror whenever they hear the roar of diesel engines
because the tales of their ancestors talk about metal monsters
crawling over the earth, spitting death and destruction.

I want their mothers to be able to admonish them with
"If you don't behave, the Pale Destroyers will come for you",
and that will be enough to reduce them to quivering obedience.

I want the annihilation to be so complete that their mythology
will tell them of the day of judgment when the stern gods from across the sea
.. the powerful 'Mericans .. destroyed their forefathers' wickedness.

(Original created by BlueLancer ... 13 September 2001)

----------------------------------------------------

Time to dust off the targetting plans for Libya. Benghazi is a good place to start, followed by Tripoli, followed by Sirt, then Breda, ....

The Extremists ONLY understand the power of Force - Give it to them.

Al Jazeera is reporting he died of smoke inhalation at the consulate.. This makes sense if he suffocated. But, the US is saying he died in his car...unless I'm reading something wrong. But, there seems to be a conflict in reporting.
