From Kristinn via phone:
Approx 360 turned out for the FReep. Add mcmuffin and abenaki to the list of FReepers. We had 3 out of 4 street corners claimed. Lots of car and foot traffic. We got a good response and it was generally generally civil. We were called racists a few times. Plenty of Gadsden and American flags.
Obama’s big black bus came right by us after the police moved everyone back from the street corners. The news media ended up getting let off near the intersection. [One video camera and one still photog gave us maybe 10 seconds of aim then scurried after the One].
—end call—
A very nice turnout, lots of good signs, Obama was very late and no one knew for sure the direction of his approach. THEY BROUGHT HIM IN THROUGH THE HOOD!!! It is possible he viewed us as the motorcade passed by.
I caught the tail end of the speech on the radio as I drove home early to get this report going. A very conservative local commentator, Steve Bussey, gave a summary of the speech and pretty much called it a home run for Obama. He said Obama was introduced by a Mary [blanked on last name] who was a "Republican for Obama." Well, that remains to be seen and their track record on that score is pretty poor. Bussey said he got inside info that it would be a common theme as he brings this show on the road. We'll see if Obama's minions learn how to vet.
We had a nice day with a NE wind to keep the temps down. Nice crowd, several kids present. The opposition was pretty thin until right before the ceremony. It seemed funny that the one corner with the 99%'ers and other assorted Obamabots was pushed back much further than the other 3 corners.
We had our own snipers, looking down on the crowd and realistically, back down into the Hood.
A shout-out to the Daytona Beach State College student taking snaps for her photography class. Good luck to her graduating into an uncertain economy. Don't know how she leans politically.
OK, we almost got killed. While a gaggle of cops stood by yapping, a green car pulled a u-turn right in front of a motorcycle northbound along our line. If he didn't have quick reflexes, his wipeout would have mowed down dozens. Everyone saw it but the cops.
More as I think of it and I am sure our other intrepid FReepers will chime in and maybe post a few pics.

Put me opn the ping list please.... thanks!
A speech is a collection or sentences. Sentences are a collection of words. Words are not actions. The emperor has no clothes.

Thanks for sharing the video from Melbourne.
Approx 50 people ‘welcomed’ Mr. Obama to the St. Pete College/Seminole campus on Saturday morning. We were held across the street from the campus entrance but, as his bus drove to the entrance, I’m sure Mr. Obama had a clear view of the group who waved flags and held signs to let him know we disagreed with his policies. There were many pro-life people present, including young people holding signs saying ‘have mercy on the unborn’.
We witnessed shallow Charlie Crist being driven into the event. ugh.
There were a couple smaller groups across the street supporting 0bama who would chant “four more years”. In reply, we came back much louder with “four more MONTHS”.
To FReepers in other towns where 0bama is campaigning, by all means organize a protest (but check with Kristinn first for ground rules), it is a blast. Here's a tip, arrive at least four hours early and expect to be there a LONG time as traffic will be tied up until The 0ne is on the way to his next lie fest.
Freep on!
Great job, kristinn!! Go, Florida!!
the way the MSM described it you would have thought there were thousands.
even FNC was oohing and aaaaahing over obama.
too much NYC.
ohh, sorry if I misled....there were a LOT of people ...very long lines... to get in to the St.Pete College/Seminole event with Mr. Obama. Local paper said about 11,000. Didn’t look like that many to me but there were A LOT of people, which surprised me a bit. Due to limited parking, buses transported people from parking a local mall to College event....wondering if some buses brought people from Kissimmee and then brought them back for Mr.Obama’s second event of the day.
There were between 50 -70 people who were on the RIGHT side. Wish there were more but many were participating in Super Saturday events...calling or precinct walking.
LOL! That is hilarious! Too bad you did not get pics!
added, glad to have you with us.
