Uhhmmm, Akin won't win without money. It really is that simple. No one is going to give money to a candidate they think will lose. If the RNC gave money to Akin now, they would lose credibility because they told the world they will not give money to him and I don't blame them.

I believe Akin was going to drop out but was convinced to stay in the race by Huckabee and other politically-connected evangelical leaders. You have to assume that part of that conversation was a committment to finance his race, given his disadvantages. What I’m wondering is, where’s the cash?

“Uhhmmm, Akin won't win without money. It really is that simple”

Candidates who have been outspent have won before. I don't think you realize how weak a candidate McCaskill is. If conservatives and Tea Party people get behind Mr. Akin and raise money for him and volunteer for him he has a chance. Many people simply won't vote for McCaskill under any circumstances.

The big unknown is can Mr. Akin start running an intelligent, effective campaign.

Akin is a fighter and he will not fold under pressure. He has proven that he has a spine of steel. Like Washington at Valley Forge, Akin will find a way to overcome these short term hardships and win a victory that the moderates will not be permitted to soon forget. His campaign will serve as a shining example of what adherence to principle can achieve.
