The Democrats worked to support Akin in primary. The Republicans are working to defeat Akin in the general election. Wouldn't it be ironic if he won.

I would prefer that Akin wins, but while the dems turned out for him in the primary, they will never support him in the general.

Democrats supported Mr. Akin in the primary because they thought he was the weakest candidate. They thought he was the only candidate the McCaskill could defeat.

Democrats will do everything they can to defeat him in the general election.
