What makes you think a RINO would take his place?

Well let's see. Why not try the first sentence of the post you just "read."

I think he knew fully who would do the "replacing": not the rank and file, but the GOP-e.

I thought that was clear enough as to 'what made me think a RINO would take his place.' Seeing as there is no time for a primary, one would rationally think the Party would simply name a replacement. It seems more than likely that the SOS in Missouri would buy it. Hence, it's up to the Party leadership as to the nominee. Hence my conclusion that it would be a RINO. Wasn't that obvious?

Is Sarah Steele a RINO?

Absolutely not. What makes you think she would be the replacement nominee?

I have suggested several times that he make a deal to withdraw if he could name his replacement. That would be a win-win.

I wanted that too. Anybody with a brain would. Nor is there any doubt that the topic cam up with Mr. Akin. He didn't do it. As the nominee, he has the power to stay in, but not to name his replacement.

But he won’t do that because, despite what he says, it is about him.

Akin had no power to make the deal we want. He would have had to go to the Party. If the GOP-e would rather lose than have a conservative nominee like Steelman win, then they'd have said "no dice" to such a deal as you propose. Akin would then have to weigh whether to let a RINO take his place and turn off the base, or take his chances that the people of Missouri would see through all this.

It may not be all about him.

Not having that power to name a replacement is true; but that doesn’t mean he can’t try to negotiate a deal with the Central Committee. As I’ve learned in the business world, you never make a deal until you make an offer or someone makes an offer to you. Either party could make that offer if they are serious about getting rid of McCasKILL.
