I know this is LA Times, but with the warchest bulging and Ohio being so important why stop?

Similar article this morning about Pennsylvania. I’d say why run ads in the week of your opponent’s convention? It is like a BB versus a cannon of TV time. Wait until next week and then hit them hard with 7 weeks to go.

Why not wait until after the DNC to get fresh ammo for a reload.

Given the attention span of *many* in the electorate and the fact we're still 60 days out,
perhaps they're planning to wait to blitz everywhere much closer to the day ?

No they are not pulling adds in Ohio. Wishful thinking.

Sounds like they are sitting out the convention and then planning to relaunch. After all, during the convention the dems dominate the news, but you get some free time responding in the news.

Romney has been very proactive and produced a number of surprises. I’m sure they are planning a few more over this last couple of months.

Romney is smart with money.

No need to worry.

Actually, I think it is smart. Obama’s ads will probably turn off most voters. When the other guy is sticking his foot in his mouth, let him. I think Mitt is letting the “Empty Chair” sink in for people. He will hit it hard when the convention is over.

Romney just raised $300 million in the last 3 months that he wasn’t able to spend until after the conventions.

Hard to believe he is conceding when the campaign hasn’t even started yet.

Just a guess:

1) No use competing with convention coverage

2) Any day now, the campaigns will disclose their latest cash haul, and camp Romney will know where Barry stands...and spend accordingly.

I don’t agree with either of these strategies, btw.

Team Romney needs a few days to sort through the humongous pile of fodder that the Dem convention has provided.

Just wait.

In my opinion (hope) Romney campaign are waiting until the last moment to reveal their campaign strategy. They couldn't do so until AFTER the DNC convention. 1. so the Dems can't use it against us 2. They may want to include things that happen AT the DNC convention. If that part is correct, WOW, did they get new ammo or what?

This, in my opinion, includes which and how many states they are targeting. Time will tell, but it should become clear in a few days after the euphoria from the DNC convention wears off.

I think the Romney campaign is going to use their advertising budget strategically. I was listening to ABC news during the 3 o'clock feed of WABC and they played a portion of the new Bill Clinton ad done by the RNC. They reported the Romney campaign would not give detail on how much they spent on the ad or where it was going to be aired, but I saw another Freeper post the ad is already showing up in his state on television. That ad is most potent being aired now considering Clinton sang the praises of Obama last night so it's still fresh in voters minds IMO.

Romney has a ton of $$ and will spend is wisely unlike Obama.

Why blow an ad budget when you know you’ll have better material to work with later, when it will be more effective. This deal in Charlotte is producing a bevy of low hanging, ripe, throwing tomatos.

Why interrupt a freak show like the DNC convention? The TV coverage of the convention is like a NatGeo special on the weird, poisonous, toothy fish they find living near the wreck of the Titanic. My liberal Jewish family who voted for Obama in 2008 now says they think he’s an anti-Semitic, communist *sshole (yes, we did build our businesses). Beyond that, I will be very surprised if Romney and superpac ads doesn’t disembowel Obama in the next two months.

Well, I live in Cincinnati which is very different from the cesspool that is Cleveland but on my street I count 6 Romney yard signs and 2 religious freedom yard signs. (Including in the yard of my FDR democrat union neighbor) and i have yet to see a single Odogeater sign anywhere.

The fix is in. Romney’s prize is the nomination, NOT the Prsidency. He has no intention of winning.

I at least thought he’d wait and make a fatal mistake in the debates, but I see he is making sure that he doesn’t win.

I’m in southern (west central) Ohio and we get a constant diet of Obama ads and an occasional Romney ad.

Last week was Medicare

This week is middle class tax increase of 2000

Romney’s ad: don’t recall seeing one.
