The FBI has launched an investigation into a shooting between agents and people standing across the Rio Grande.
According to officials, agents fired their weapons across the border after the suspects allegedly threw rocks at them.
Meanwhile, in Nuevo Laredo a woman has come forward, claiming her husband was killed by border patrol gunfire.
Nora Isabel Lam Gallegos said she and her husband were out by the riverbanks at a popular spot frequented by locals.
It was there that she said her husband Guillermo Arevalo Pedroza, 36, was allegedly shot by gunfire.
According to reports, Gallegos and five other witnesses claim agents in a border patrol boat were trying to apprehend a man in the river trying to cross illegally.
She said this happened near a park by the river, where there were about fifty people present.
Gallegos recounted her experience, describing what she said happened moments after her husband was shot.
The U.S. border patrol released a statement Tuesday afternoon.
They acknowledge an incident happened on Monday saying agents were under attack and people from the Mexican side were throwing rocks at them.
At this time, border patrol officials will not confirm if any of the Mexican nationals were hit by gunfire, but we do know that no border patrol agents were hurt.
FBI is now investigating this case as an assault upon a federal officer
OK, how much money does she want?
Were they Fast and Furious Rocks?

Popular spot for cartels and ullegal crossings. She must enjoy visiting war zones. Sounds like a good candidate to send to the Afghan/Pakistan border.
Looks like illegals have found another source of money besides welfare. Lawsuit to follow.
That’s what happens when you (play with fire) throw rocks, ask the Palestinians! Lesson learned (I hope), never bring rocks to a gun fight.
You wouldn't think people would need to be taught this lesson, but there it is.
So this is an issue, but the American who was killed is not.
I wouldn't, it would fall flat... as a pancake.
Exactly what I was thinking. Why let a shooting by a BP agent in the line of duty go to waste. Can one say 'Ca-Ching'?! Time to cash in on the lottery. No matter whether it is a justifiable shooting or not!
My thoughts as well. Honestly, Mexico wouldn’t be the crap-hole it is if Mexicans put half the energy into fixing it that they do figuring out ways to break into our country.
