Don’t twist my words. That was NOT what I was responding to. You were making the claim that the Mormons can deny Jesus Christ, embrace a perverted Gospel, and still be “saved” by their faith in an absurd blasphemy.
“I thought this thread was about Romney responding to the DNC’s removal of GOD and the omitting of Jerusalem as the capital of Israel from their platform. All of a sudden, it seems to be an argument about whether Romney, a Mormon, is a Christian. I believe the First Article to the Bill of Rights states that ‘we have freedom of religion’, and I do not think his religion should prevent him from being President should he win the election. I am not a Mormon, nor do I believe as they do. However, rather than judge them or criticize them, I find it a better use of my time to pray that they will accept the TRUTH as God presents it in the Bible.
I hope this scripture, Romans 2:1-16 will interest you...paying particular attention to the first verse: “Therefore thou art inexcusable, O man, whosoever thou art that judgest: for wherein thou judgest another, thou condemnest thyself; for thou that judgest doest the same things.” I am not accusing you because I really don’t understand your intentions, but I thought you might find some merit in these scriptures.”
The thread turned into this because a Mormon apologist felt the need to correct someone calling Romney a mormon to “Romney is a Christian.” I even gave him a warning shot but he decided to peddle the lie anyway.
As for the quote from Matthew, the scripture is in reference to hypocrisy. We are commanded to judge all spirits, to see whether they are true or not, and to instruct and to correct. The scriptures are clear that we are not to embrace those who pervert the Gospel or to offer succor for them.
2Jn 1:9-11 Whosoever transgresseth, and abideth not in the doctrine of Christ, hath not God. He that abideth in the doctrine of Christ, he hath both the Father and the Son. (10) If there come any unto you, and bring not this doctrine, receive him not into your house, neither bid him God speed: (11) For he that biddeth him God speed is partaker of his evil deeds.

Obviously, there is no justification for apologizing for Mormonism or counting them as ‘Christians.’

The entire premise of the LDS is that the entirety of orthodox Christianity, from the Catholics to the Protestants, were utterly corrupt from day one and are the whore of babylon, which I quoted some of your founders saying earlier in the thread. Without this fundamental logic Mormonism has no reason to exist. IOW, Mormonism has placed itself in judgment of all Christianity, though you’d absurdly turn it around on me when I point out that Mormons reject historical Christianity in order to embrace the words of a known con-man, a man who commits polyandry, and who, in the case of the Book of Abraham, “translated” standard Egyptian burial rites into a book about Abraham, Newtonian Cosmology and planet Kolob. It is an absurd fraud that exists only through a blatant disregard for all facts and reality, and yet you would claim that you are “saved” when you do not even believe there is a hell to be saved from? When you believe that there are multiple levels of heaven, and that, as a Mormon, you will ascend to the Celestial Heaven to become a god, with Smith standing on the right hand of God permitting you access?

The word “saved” in Mormon thought can have 6 different meanings, none of which are the Biblical meaning. For example, “ALL” mortals are considered saved from the permanence of death by the works of Christ, (which do not include anything that happened in the garden FYI). However, this is not sufficient to get you out of the lower levels of heaven, or from outer darkness if you were really bad.
What the LDS requires is Baptism “by one with authority” (The LDS) and works and service, including ritual handshakes, baptism of the dead, and performing what you are “called” (literally, they’ll call you up) to do. This is conditional, and your worthiness can be lost.
The scripture does not teach this, nor does it even hint at it.

You do abuse us when you use the language incorrectly without defining it, when you know that Mormonism uses Christian lingo with vastly different definitions.

GOP group thinkers are as easy to manipulate as the icing in the mid day summer sun. Even if you support Mittens, you are going to be challenged to be an indepenent thinking conservative while he is in office. He’s the “progressive” author of Obammycare and he thinks it’s swell; abet a tad of tweeking. He beleives in Algore’s man-made global warming “science” and it’s watermelon solutions.

I can tolerate and even understand the GOPer’s argument of a lessor of two evils in voting for Mittens. Obama, in a second term will about as evil as we can get. In fact, if he gets in and betrays the constitution as the African Muslim has done, I’ll join the left in seeking his impeachment.
Nothing else matters if the kenyan gets another 4 years. With obamacare the marxists will get their teeth into 1/5 of the economy and use access to that cash to roll over all opposition. The only thing on the table right now should be getting the kenyan out of the WH.

I want Obama out but Romney will be a problem if he gets in. You can see the shout downs of conservatives already from his gay, baby killin’ Rovites, on here. Conservatives are the Rinos only real political enemy. I’m taking the chance that Mittens will have less success than Obammy. It could well be folly.
