For most of three year in High School i was the Brigade Armorer.

I had 40 M1 Garands, about 30 22LTs Mostly Winchester 52Cs and a few Remington 516Ts. Also any thing that came into schools had to stored in the Arms Room. Among the various items I was responsible for were an SKS, a Browning BAR, an M1A1 Thompson and various civilian firearms.

And the rifle range was underneath the Visitors Bleachers, 10 lanes IIRC, 5 on each side.

Our school was usually the St. Louis league champ.

Wow. The parents, teachers, other children must have been terrified all the time.....that danger was so close and potentially hazardous.

I feel like I’m reading a sci-fi fiction novel.
